Who Are We?
Pom Labs empowers people with data. Established in the early months of the bombardment of Gaza by a group of young American professionals largely working in STEM and the social sciences, Pom Labs develops innovative educational materials and data models for use in change-making.
Why This Campaign?
We believe that Americans can still do the right thing in the Middle East.
This campaign takes available public data on Americans’ contribution to Israel’s military campaign and provides Americans with an accessible, relatively affordable, and educational opportunity to turn knowledge into action. It provides essential, life-saving aid while lowering your tax burden and helping you take a stand against collective punishment.
While the Middle East is forever changed by U.S. Intervention, the U.S. can change course in its Middle East policy.
What is this Campaign?
#Offset4Gaza is a campaign that helps neutralize your financial contribution –given through your federal tax dollars –to Israel’s collective punishment of the Palestinian people in Gaza.
This is about giving you your agency back. You can pay your taxes and still decide about where your tax dollars go. Instead of going toward the destruction of Gaza, you can give it to the people of Gaza. We are empowering you to choose where your money is going.
In January, the United States halted funding for the largest humanitarian organization operating in Gaza. Our nation is withholding $343 million of life-saving aid from the people who desperately need it in the face of horrific conditions on the ground. This campaign helps us counter that by giving tax-deductible donations to the agency of your choice performing life-saving work on the ground.
On this website, you can anonymously calculate how many of your tax dollars have contributed to the assault on Gaza and give a tax-deductible donation in the same amount to a 501(c)(3) humanitarian aid agency providing relief in the Gaza Strip.
#Offset4Gaza offers a direct, alternate action to counter the negative impact our government is having on this conflict. While lost life and limb cannot be recovered, #Offset4Gaza aims to mitigate Americans’ impact this tax season by giving money to relief organizations and receiving a tax deduction for the exact amount we are each contributing to the bombardment.
